ASE and I-CAR Designations
You'll find the ASE and I-CAR logos proudly displayed on our uniforms and building. These designations aren't something you can go out and buy - you have to earn them. Here is a little background on both.
ASE Delane Langton, Blue Body's Owner, is an ASE certified Master Body and Paint Technician and Collision Estimator. He also was Body Shop Business Magazine's ASE master collision repair and refinish 2000 Technician of the Year.
ASE's mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals. Here's how ASE certification works: Prospective candidates take one or more of ASE's automotive specialty exams. Upon passing at least one exam, and after providing proof of two years of relevant work experience, the candidate becomes certified. To remain certified, the person must be re-tested every five years.
I-CAR Blue Body & Paint has attained the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals' designation, which indicates our completion of more than 70 hours of specialized training. Even more importantly, Gold Class Professionals know how to check, repair and replace safety features like airbags, seatbelts and anit-lock braking systems.
I-Car's vision for the industry is that every person in the collision industry has the necessary technical knowledge and skills relevant to their position to ensure a complete and safe repair.
